Timed past training past and every day Jonas grow more and more as a person. One day The Giver transfer the memories of an elephant been killed, and Jonas asked himself why they do that. The memory had really touch Jonas heart is the memory of Color. This memory became really important to Jonas and he always asked himself why people can’t see it. Jonas had the idea to transfer this memory to his friend Asher, but it didn’t work because Asher doesn’t have the ability to see beyond. Memories make Jonas so happy but he also felt pain and these feelings are what make us who we are or should make us who we are. The memories Jonas had receive are not just rainbows and snow it was also pain, sunburn, hunger, war, love and one of the best memories the slide one. War and hunger make Jonas been impressed, and he think it wasn’t a thing that someone will like to feel. This makes me think that the community makes people forget these memories because they are painful and is horrible to feel it. After sometime Jonas and his family were taking care of baby Gabe, and he can’t sleep at night, so Jonas decide to transfer the memories to baby Gabe. Does Baby Gabe will understand theme?
”They never feel the pain" Jonas said. These quote make me think that know Jonas is really having pain with the memories he is receiving. But with those memories now he could understand why the community has so many laws, restrictions and why people don’t know about memories. I think that with the pain Jonas is having with memories he could change the way the community is ruled or even how people feel about the laws (they will have more freedom).
The Giver had been a book that I connected in real world because everyone wants to have a better place to leave, like Jonas community. I connected with the real world because we have laws that were made with a reason, and maybe it is like that because something happened in the past, like Jonas community animal poaching, war and more. Chapter 13 through 16 is been interesting has a lot to connect with and makes you read more and more.
Ari, I really liked how you introduced the memories Jonas has recieved most reantly. I found it really interesting when you said pain is what makes us who we are. I totally agree with your point, since pain it what sets us limits, makes us see the world differently, what defines us basically. What makes us humans.
ResponderBorrarDani, thanks I think that the memories set us limits how you said and also define our future, like Jonas community because of the pain they have in the past maybe that’s why they have a "perfect" community.
BorrarAriana, I think that you're blog is pritty good but I will what to know what do you think about memories and why do you think they are sow important for the community also consider that panful memories can affect the society because they give pain
ResponderBorrarNicolas, thanks I think the memories are important for the community because maybe they are the reason they have a "perfect" community, and maybe thats why people dont remember memmories. Even if they are painful or love. Yes I think that the pain memories can
BorrarAri, I loved it when you seid "Memories make Jonas so happy but he also felt pain and these feelings are what make us who we are or should make us who we are" because it makes me think about what memories are all about, I had never stop and think about what memories mean in our lifes and as you said they mark our life even if its good or bad. Some memories help us with the new things because when we see something knew, we try to make a connection with something similar to us, so you know with what or with who your are dealing with or about to deal with. What do you think about this?
