The Giver chapter 9 to 12
Jonas have been selected as the receiver, and for
Jonas that job wasn’t something amazing. His parents told him that to be a receiver
of memories is an honored job that everyone in the community respected. After a while when every one receive their
instructions, every person have folders of instructions of their new jobs. When
his friends opened their folder have lot of papers but for Jonas was only one.
Jonas was expecting more papers but when he stared reading theme in the paper
said things that he wasn’t allowed to do in the past. Besides Jonas was kind of confused about the
instructions he had a lot of questions.
After time passed Jonas start his training as the receiver, but at the
beginning of the training the older receiver told him that the training will be
painful and he could suffer. Jonas has a lot of questions about it, and
specially questions of the community, things that anyone could know. When their training start Jonas saw colors
and the elephants, and I connected that to the real world because people steel
hunt animals, and that similar on the memories that Jonas receive.
In
The book there were the instructions that Jonas need to follow, and some really
make me think if Jonas will be shocked or impressed. In the instruction said that he could lie and
he can make any question he want, and the good part of it is that he could ask
ant thing, like memories of the past, community, people, colors and more. What
I really think is why people were prohibited to know about the past, choose their
family units, wife’s, jobs and more. These instruction that Jonas have receive
I think that would help him becoming better person; receiver and even he could
help the community. Seeing beyond is an ability that people have and I think is
an essential part of life.
I
think that The Giver is in the best part, because the author makes us to know
more about Jonas life and his new job. I think that chapters 9 to 12 are the
rising action because it is the part were the highest point is.
Ari, Why do you think that no one can choose their partner for life?
