The Unexpected Life

“The Velt” is a famous short story written by Ray Bradbury.  This story takes place in the future, which has machines that make your chores. This story show us the life of a family that has a house with a very advance technology, and inside of the house they had a nursery that George and Lydia sons play and have fun there.  This nursery it is not just a room it has a very advance technology that makes the pictures so real that it feels like you are in the place that you imagine, in this case Peter and Wendi imagine like they are in  Africa. At the beginning everything was joy and fun, but then Peter and Wendi start to be very violent with their parents, and  one of the biggest preoccupations of George and Lydia was that their kids are imagine things that the shouldn’t like murder, blood and that makes them violent.  After a time the kids get addicted to the nursery and at night George and Lydia start hearing screams and the roar of lions.  One day George and his wife decide to turn of the house and go away because it cause a lot of problems to the family, but obiosly his kids refuse to go away.
CHARACTERIZATION

That just it. I feel like I don’t belong here. The house is wife and mother now, and nursemaid.  Can I compete with an African veldt? Can I give a bath and scrub the children as efficiently or quickly as the automatic scrub bath can? I cannot.” (3)
In this part Lydia tacks with his husband about his feelings, and how dos he feel about the house.  Lydia thinks that he is unussless because the house make everything that a mother and wife make. I think that Lydia is wright because what’s the point of life is something make every single thing that you are suppose to make.

IMAGERY
“The nursery was silent. It was empty as a jungle at hot high noon. The walls were blank and two dimensional. Now, as George and Lydia stood in the center of the room, the walls began to purr and recede into crystalline distance , it seemed, and presently an African veldt appeared, in three dimensions, on all sides, in color reproduce the final pebble of a bit of straw. The ceiling above them became a deep sky with hot yellow sun.”
I like the imagery that Ray Bradbury shows us in this story because the characters describe It like you are in the jungle. Also I think is very creative because they have a room witch what you imagine becomes alive. But it also had a negative part this room and it is that the things where getting to real so George decide to turn the house off. Besides that think that the imagery is very well explained and it can make the reader feel like they are in the story.

I think that this story is very interesting because it show us a very important message. The message of this story is that we don’t need machines or ultra-advance technology to have a very good life, we only need to be our selves and apriciate what we have.  In this story the characterization is so well explained that we can imagine th characters like we now them. So as well characterization.

Past, present and future.
It have been passed some time since Jonas is not tacking the pills, and the stirrings for Fiona have come back again to his mind. It was December and Jonas diced to spend a day with her friends. Asher and Fiona where playing on the park, they were playing like they were in war. Jonas had received the memory of war so he fell to the floor like he was dead, so Asher was rely mad at Jonas. Because that wasn’t the way that they play, and never have the idea of real war. After some time Jonas were with his family and Jonas father talk about a realize ceremony. The ceremony was about twins that were born, and in the community was not permitted to have two persons with the same face. The ceremony consist that the baby who has the less weight need to be realized, and what rely impact Jonas was that he really have the memories of pain so he knew what his father was doing, and also he figure it out that realize means DEAD. Jonas keeps saying “He killed it, my father kill it.” The Giver show Jonas that he could see the ceremony in the screen. After the ceremony Jonas and the giver were talking about the receiver that was before him, his name was Rosemary. When Jonas ask questions to the giver about Rosemary The Giver felt really sad about it, and then he said a secret to Jonas. He is my daughter, The Giver said.

“Jonas felt a ripping sensation inside him, the feeling of terrible pain clawing it’s a way forward to emerge in a cry”. The memories Jonas is receiving have shown us that memories are very important in our lives; they create our past, our present and our future.  In Jonas community people don’t know about the memories, so Jonas father don’t know what he is doing when he killed the baby, because maybe the people of the community told him that they fall in a dip sleep. Jonas has a very important role in the community, because he is the receiver of memories and the community would be ruined if something happened to Jonas. The Giver told Jonas that when Rosemary asked for realize the memories come back to people, and was such a terrible time. Science Jonas figure it out The Giver had the idea that Jonas can escape, but The Giver won’t go, because he wants to be with his daughter Rosemary.

The giver has been a book that shows me that every part, every memory, every action and every feeling can set up our lives. Not just because it’s part of been a human, but with those things we can make errors, happy memory’s or even pain.  Sometimes we think every part of our life’s or even other people lives is perfect as it seemed, and one example it is not is The Giver. The Giver had happy memories that anyone could have but he also have memories that have destroy part of his life. He had his doubter and he loose it, so I think he is trying to tell Jonas that been a Giver is not just power and honor it is difficult and you need to be brave. FREEDOM is something that we need to have for we can set our future and Jonas community don’t even know what is bad for it and what is good, like when Jonas father killed the baby and he didn’t knew it.  The THEME for this book is mainly memories and it is something that it never ends.
